DJ KURRAN

Success is inevitable for this New York native. Musical Artist, DJ, Producer and Arranger, Kurran, was born in Manhattan where the famous Curran Theatre inspired his name. Raised by a mother who worked as an air personality for various radio stations, Kurran's musical style was shaped and motivated by various influences.

Having several family members to contribute to his love of music was an added plus. His uncle "Paul Hines" who was a founding member of the early 80's Motown group Ozone and an accomplished musician (drummer) whose performed and recorded with such musical artist like Stevie Wonder, George Duke, Tina Marie, Jeffery Osborne, Rick James and Luther Vandros has had a constant encouraging affect on Kurran's musical endeavors and successes.

An array of musical geniuses that inspired by: The Isley Brothers, Earth Wind & Fire, Marvin Gay, gospel sensation Commission, Dawkins & Dawkins. Many pioneers of hip-hop influenced his musical development such as; Eric B. and Rakim, LL Cool J, and Tribe Called Quest. In addition, the lyrical styles of the late Tupac Shakur and Notorious Big further shaped his musical expression. Kurran continues to be influenced by a diverse array of artists.


Relationship with God has truly grounded a spiritual foundation in his music, above all. Kurran has developed his musical talents through formal teaching, monitoring professional music sessions, and informal musical exchanges.



Pursuing an active DJ career, and while furthering his education, Kurran began working as an air personality while attending college at CSU in Wilberforce, Ohio. Making a move to California, Kurran started working as a DJ for all major college events and several Bay Area clubs. He instigated the establishment of Sharpe Music Productions.

Kurran established Sharpe Music Productions with the vision to establish a creative production company designed to be a "one stop shop" which would provide music production , DJ's, Artists, graphic design, and artist management. To make this possible Kurran has collaborated with such companies as Royal Visions Graphics and Creative Designs. Kurran is considered a popular Bay Area DJ and an emerging Music Producer. His new innovative diverse sound has gained recognition and respect throughout Northern California. He has created a variety of Jazz-Funk, Hip-Hop with a Gospel feel, and the latest venture, "Cafe Soul The lounge Experience"
